Objective

The project aims to achieve a holistic development of inland waterways in West Bengal by rethinking infrastructure development, enhancing safety on waterways and strengthening the institutions involved in operations of Waterways in the State through financial aid from the World Bank.

The project is being developed by West Bengal Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation, an undertaking under the Department of Transport, Government of West Bengal. It is the nodal body undertaking all transport related infrastructure development and scheme implementation in the State.
